Northgate Gonzales Market has acquired two stores in this area from K.V. Mart, another regional operator, the chairman and chief executive officer of K.V. Mart confirmed to SN.
One location, which operated under the Top Valu banner, has already reopened as a Northgate Gonzales store, and the other, which had operated under the Buy Low Market banner, is expected to reopen as Northgate Gonzales within 30 to 60 days, according to a report in the Orange County Register.
A spokesperson for Northgate Gonzales, a Hispanic-focused chain based in Anaheim, Calif., was not immediately available for comment.
Northgate Gonzales now operates 43 locations in Southern California, the article stated, up from 37 a year ago.

Darioush Khaledi, the chairman and CEO of K.V. Mart, said his company continues to operate 11 supermarkets under the Top Valu and Buy Low banners, with “no plan to sell any others.”
In fact, he said K.V. Mart plans to “extensively remodel” six of its remaining locations.
The company recently opened a new 80,000-square-foot warehouse and moved into a new headquarters in Anaheim, he said.
